On Wednesday, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took stock of a number of flood hit areas across Upper Assam.
CM Sonowal took stock of damage caused by erosion of Buroi River along with Ministers Shri Kesab Mahanta and Shri Ranjit Dutta in Biswanath district. The CM also met and interacted with inmates of Buroighat LP School relief camp.
Next, he examined damage caused by Chatrang River in Gohpur. The CM held a flood review meeting with officials of Gohpur sub-division and also handed over ex-gratia of INR 4 L to father of Late Dipankar Bora, a flood victim of the area.
Following his visit to Gohpur, the CM inspected the portions of Dolohat Phulbari road washed away by Singora River at Nowboicha in Lakhimpur district. The CM instructed officials to take immediate steps for repairing the road and address the problems faced by locals due to this issue.
Later in the evening, he visited two relief camps set at Balitika High Madrassa and Phukondoloni Primary School at Naoboicha. Interacting with inmates, the CM took stock of facilities including food, medicines and ongoing rescue and relief operations.
