CM Orders To Arrest Garga Chatterjee for his Derogatory Statement Against Sukapha

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal ordered to arrest Garga Chatterjee, a resident of Kolkata who insulted Sukapha, the founder of the Ahom Kingdom on Twitter.

TheChief Minister instructed Guwahati Commissioner of Police to move to WestBengal today itself. The Commissioner of Police has been instructed to arrestChatterjee and bring him to Assam.

An FIR was also lodged against Chatterjeeon Thursday by a resident of Dibrugarh at Dibrugarh Police Station.

In a series of tweets, Chatterjee called the greatAhom king as Chinese invader and questioned Assam chief minister SarbanandaSonowal for celebrating 'Asom Divas' which is in commemoration of ChaolungSukapha.

However, Chatterjee later deleted the tweets.

The FIR lodged by one Bhaskar Gogoi demanded strictpunishment against him. The Assam Government should write to Twitter to suspendhis account, Gogoi said.
