Rima Das's critically acclaimedAssamese feature film Bulbul Can Sing is all set to hit the screens acrossAssam tomorrow (September 20).
"We are coming to a theatreclose to you in the state on 20th September and from 27thSeptember all over India PVR release. Need your love and blessings," Rima Dassaid it in a Press Con at Guwahati.
The Film Bulbul Can Sing wonthe Rajat Kamal for the most effective Assamese Film at the 66th National FilmAwards.
Based against a ruralbackcloth, Bilbul Can Sing is a story about a girl in rural India whochallenges the traditional values and expectations of her family, it is about ateenage girl, Bulbul, living in a village in Assam, fighting her means throughlove and loss as she figures out who she really is.
The cast of the film includesArnali Das, Bonita Thakuriya, Manoranjoan Das, Manabendra Das, and PakijaBegam. The film has to this point been screened in 40 film festivals as well asToronto International Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festivalacross the world and has bagged thirteen awards.
It also won the most effectiveIndie Film at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) in Victoria,Australia.
Rima shot to international fameonce her film Village Rockstars which was an Assamese language film won theNational Award for the Best moving picture in 2018. It was even India'sofficial entry from the country to the Oscars.
