Budget 2019 has Nothing 'Special' about Assam & NE

APCC President Ripun Bora on Friday termed the unionbudget 2019-20 as a great disappointment as it has virtually nothing for thestate and the northeast as a whole.

Bora said that the budget has poured cold water onthe high hopes and expectations of the people of Assam.

"We didn't find any special packages for flood and erosion, development of MSME sector, development councils, tea tribes and ex-tea tribes," Bora said.

"The budget has nothing new for people for Assam who were waiting for the good days. There is nothing plan about the river Brahmaputra and Barak." Bora said.

"The Budget 2019-20 had nothing new on women's security. No new attempts have been made to increase employment in the Budget. It is a thoughtless exercise. It has no proposals to contain rising prices and it offered no succour to the common citizens": Bora added.
