BJP to Observe ‘Sewa Week’ from September 14

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe 'Sewa Week' fromSeptember 14 to September 20 across the country and the Central Government hasgiven the responsibility to monitor the Sewa Week to four leaders.

Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development andGanga Rejuvenation, Arjun Ram Meghwal has been allotted the responsibility forNorth East, Odisha and West Bengal.

The Sewa Week will be observed to involve in the sewa programme withthe officials of hospitals, educational institutions, government offices etc. TheBJP has decided to conduct the sewa programme especially to provide sewa to thedisabled.

Addressing a press conference at BJP headquarter in Hengrabari, Meghwalsaid that through the sewa programme, the NGOs will be encouraged to take10-100 disabled from each state.

He also informed that during the sewa week, a book will also bepublished on September 17 on the occasion of the birthday of Prime MinisterNarendra Modi.

During the sewa week, awareness programme on ban of single use plasticwill also be organized.

But the Minister, when asked as why the government can't stop theproduction of such plastic in order to get a permanent solution, Meghwalignored the question.

However, during the sewa week, awareness on water conservation willalso be organized in order to solve the water crisis problem.
