BJP president Amit Shah lays foundation stone for 19 new cancer care centers in Assam

BJP National President Amit Shah on Monday was present in Guwahati and laid the foundation stone for 19 new cancer centers across Assam in Khanapara.

Present in the ceremony were Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal, industrialist Ratan Tata and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

During the ceremony, Shah said that healthcare facilities have improved in the last four years. The Central government is also taking all necessary steps to improve road and rail connectivity in Northeast, which is required for the development the region.

Shah also emphasized that Assam has been allotted more funds this time by the 14th Finance Commission in comparison to any previous Finance Commission.

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal said that the construction of these hospitals will help the poor and benefit them.

The cancer centers will be set up under a joint initiative of the Assam government and Tata Trust.
