BJP MLA opposes Big Dam

BJP MLA Rituparna Baruah has opposed the proposed DibangMultipurpose Project (Dibang MPP).

The Lahowal MLA has alleged that the Cabinet has taken thedecision without much research on the possible damages it can cause in thedownstream areas.

Expressing disagreement, Baruah questioned the Centre that withouta hearing in Assam, how was the decision of the construction of the dam taken.

The decision of the Cabinet was surprising, said thelawmaker.

Assam government should request the Union Government toreview the decision, urged Baruah.
