CAB not in the list of agenda in Rajya Sabha

The BJP has last night garnered the support of the SP and BSP for CAB and will bring the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) as supplementary in the Rajya Sabha will be brought on February 12, the penultimate day before the Rajya Sabha adjourned sine die.

For the CAB there will be 123 votes and against the CAB there will be 103 votes. With such margin, the BJP will bulldoze the bill even if Congress try to obstruct the bill passage in the Rajya Sabha, said a BJP top sources from New Delhi. SP,BSP and NPF will abstain from vote while JD(U) and Shiv Sena will oppose the bill.

Earlier, separately this was today confirmed by the BJP General Secretary Ram Madhab while talking to new agency UNI at the side line of the ASEAN meeting at Guwahati yesterday..

Anticipating this move, the entire anti-CAB leadership of Assam were yesterday at New Delhi meeting various political leaders and most important of them was with the Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

From NESO to 70 organizations led by the KMSS and the prominent intellectuals like Dr Hiren Gohain and Haidar Hussian yesterday called on Rahul Gandhi in a bid to stall the bill.

But for the Congress the real goal was to get entire anti – CAB spectrum of leadership to Rahul Gandhi's house, which they think will help the party to take the Centre stage they have been denied in Assam in the ongoing anti CAB narrative by the BJP.
