Baihata Chariali PS Turns Into COVID-19 Hotspot

The Baihata Chariali police station has turned into COVID-19 hotspot as 11 police personnel including a police officer have tested positive of the deadly virus in 24 hours.

On the other hand, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Bezera which falls under the constituency of state health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has increased at an alarming rate.

Most of the doctors, nurses, and pharmacists of Bezera hospital have been detected positive of the virus in the Rapid Antigen Test conducted in the area. Following the large number of cases detected among the hospital staff, it has been sealed for safety purposes.

Witnessing an increasing number of cases in Baihata, the locals demanded lockdown in order to prevent any further spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the area.

As many as 20 people are infected with the virus in 24 hours within a radius of five kilometers between Baihata and Bezera.

Meanwhile, the locals suspected of community transmission as the infected people do not have any travel history.
