The Chapar Police on Thursday morning seized ganja from a house in Dhirghat area under the police station. Based on a secret tip-off, a team of Chapar police and Bilasipara administration carried search operation to seize ganja worth several kgs.
The team seized ganja from the house of a businessman identified as Surat Jamal. Reportedly, Surat Jamal absconded from his house before police reached in search of the illegal drugs. Police informed that the seized ganja weights around 50 kg and values more than 50 lakh in black market.
"Follow up action is being initiated in this regard," informed a police official.
