Here is some good news to the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) commuters. To overcome the cash crunch, the State Transport Corporation is planning to introduce Point of Sale (POS) machines in the State.
Govt. bus conductors will have to use the point of sale(PoS) machines, which enhance transparency, by the end of this month.
Assam government today said it is planning to reform thestate transport unit, which has incurred a total loss of Rs 700 crore since itsinception (As per reports).
It may be mentioned that the Assam State TransportCorporation (ASTC) has suffered a loss of Rs 700 crore since 1970.
