Good news for all the Basketball fans out there. Assam's first ever professional basketball competition 'Basketball Challengers League' (BCL) is here in Guwahati.

Yes you read that right; BCL is slated to kick-start from September 23 at Nehru Stadium Basketball court, Guwahati.

Sportscraft Management in association with Assam Basketball Association has organised the league, which is set to witness a battle of six professional basketball teams for the first league title as well as prize money of up to 2 lakh rupees.

In a statement, Sportscraft Management said that this 7 day-long competition will reportedly be played in a league format. The two top teams of the point table will play a final match to decide the first ever BCL winner.

"'Man of the match' and 'Most valuable player' trophies will also be at stake in the league", said the release.

"We hope the league will start a new era of professional basketball in the state and it will get even bigger from coming seasons as we have got tremendous response from the basketball fraternity in a short span of time"- said Sportscraft Management's Managing Partner Darick Ranjan Deka in a statement.

The icing on the cake being that entry is absolutely free at the Nehru Stadium Basketball court during BCL for all the sports fanatics out there.
