Assam on Thursday reported 3,477 new cases of coronavirus, taking the active caseload to 36,793. The positivity rate is 2.25 per cent.
Further, 41 deaths were recorded, while, 4,949 patients have recuperated from the deadly contagion today.
Of the new cases detected out of 1,54,264 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the highest cases were registered from Sonitpur (338), Nagaon (229), Golaghat (226), and Cachar (220).
The district wise deaths are: Jorhat (9), Kamrup Metro (4), Sivasagar (4), Tinsukia (4), Goalpara (3), Golaghat (3), Nagaon (3), Sonitpur (3), Baksa (1), Barpeta (1), Cachar (1), Darrang (1), Dhemaji (1), Dibrugarh (1), Karbi Anglong (1), and Udalguri (1).
The total recoveries have touched 4,31,208, with a recovery rate of 91.08 per cent.
The death tally in the state has touched 4,105 with a death rate of 0.87 per cent.
