The Assam Government has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the reopening of cinema halls in the state. The Centre allowed the states to reopen theatres from October 15 but the cinema halls in Assam hadn't reopened without the guidelines issued by the government.

The government has now issued the guidelines to reopen cinema halls:

  • Thermal Screening for the hall staff and customers
  • The audience who won't have any symptoms of COVID-19 will be allowed to enter the hall
  • There should be arrangements for hand sanitization in every hall
  • The audience will have to enter the halls by maintaining social distancing
  • Only 50% audience will be allowed in the theatres
  • Social distancing in lift and halls is mandatory
  • No food will be allowed inside the hall except water bottles
  • The halls should be sanitized after every show
  • The audience will have to wear masks inside the hall
