Assam Government today announced another Rs 50 lakh for the promotion of Rima Das's film Village Rockstar taking the total contribution to Rs 1 crore.
Earlier filmmaker Rima Das said that the sum of Rs 50 lakh sanctioned by the State government is not enough to meet the expenditure required to promote her film, 'Village Rockstars" for Oscar nomination.
Notably, the Assam Cabinet has sanctioned an amount of Rs 50 lakh as a reward to filmmaker Rima Das as her coming of age musical movie Village Rockstars has been nominated from India to Oscars 2019.
Talking to the reporters here on Thursday, Rima Das requested various individuals as well as organizations whoever wish to offer financial aid for the promotion of her film for Oscar nomination through the State government as she has been caught up with series of works including schedules for promotion of Village Rockstars.
The highly speculated and acclaimed movie, Village Rockstars will be commercially screened on Friday across the nation. It must be mentioned here that the Village Rockstars took four years to take its full shape. It was screened across 80 national and international film festivals and received 44 awards.
