The Assam Government has sacked six jailed APS officers who were tainted with job for cash scam. They are Hemanta Saikia, Jayanta Kumar Nath, Jatindra Prasad Baruah, DIlip Kumar Kalita, Harshajyoti Bora and Sadira Imran.
Meanwhile in a curious development, Special Prosecutor of the APSC scam, Bijan Mahajan has relieved himself from the APSC case for personal reasons. But it was not immediately clear whether he was asked to go by the CM office or he opted out himself.
Although Mahajan insisted that it was his decision, but the CM Office insiders informed that he was asked to go as his role in the APSC had come under cloud and the Chief Minister was not happy.
