Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducted various recruitment examinations. But, APSC's name came to light in connection with cash-for-job scam in 2016.
After which, Gauhati High Court directed Assam Government to constitute a judicial commission for the investigation of anomalies in APSC's recruitment examinations.
However, Government has not yet formed the judicial commission.
A forum of deprived candidates of APSC recruitment examinations, warned during a press conference that if Assam government does not constitute the judicial commission within the next 14 days, they would be forced to move the High Court.
In October 2015, Gauhati high court ordered the Assam Government to constitute a judicial commission headed by a retired judge to inquire into alleged "anomalies and misconduct" in conducting the civil services examinations conducted by the APSC in 2013.
Suspended APSC Chairman Rakesh Paul filed a leave petition in the Supreme Court. On March 22 this year, Supreme Court had dismissed Paul's petition. Five months have passed since the court dismissed Paul's petition, however Assam Government has not yet formed the judicial commission said the deprived candidates during the press conference.
Members of Fight Against Injustice in APSC accused the BJP-led Government for not taking any action against few numbers of ACS, APS and allied services officers who had allegedly got their jobs illegally or with the help of powerful persons.
The candidates also had written to the CM Sarbananda Sonowal to constitute the judicial commission.
The forum of deprived candidates has demanded cancellation of all appointments made on the basis of the results of Combined Competitive Exam, 2013.
