APSC member Samedur Rahman sent to 6-day police custody

Samedur Rahman, member of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) and one of the accused in the sensational cash-for-job scam, has been sent to 6-day police custody in Guwahati today.

Rahman, who was out on bail previously, was re-arrested by Bhangagarh police on Friday in connection with the scam and was produced in court today.

The court ordered Bhangagarh police to take him under custody for further questioning and investigation on the corruption charges against it.

Samedur Rahman was re-arrested on charges of tampering answer sheets of 19 candidates for the post of Agriculture Development Officer (ADO).

Rahman's name came to light in connection with the cash-for-job scam when his personal security officer Mabud Ali Choudhury was arrested, based on arrested Dibrugarh Town Planning engineer Naba Kanta Patir's statement.
