APSC investigation comes to an end

Theinvestigation over the cash-for-job scam in the Assam Public Service Commission(APSC) has ultimately come to an end after 2 years and 7 months on Thursday. TheDibrugarh Police, led by Surjeet SinghPanesar, today submitted the last charge sheet of the case in the court.

"We have completed our investigation. Four of theaccused are still absconding and we have arrested seventy people including thenAPSC chairman Rakesh Paul in connection with the case," said investigating officerPanesar on Thursday.

Previously, the police had submitted ten chargesheets in the court regarding the case. It may be mentioned here that therewere seven ACS and APS official amongst the arrested seventy accused.

Meanwhile, the Gauhati High Court (GHC) has onceagainst rejected the bail plea of Rakesh Paul in a case registered in theBhangagarh Police Station.
