APCC lodges complaint alleging PM’s Office of violating MCC

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Wednesday lodged a formal complaint alleging violations of the Model Code of Conduct by Prime Minister and Prime Minister's Office during the panchayat election in 16 districts of Assam today.

A plea has been submitted to Chief Election Commissioner by APCC leaders Ranjan Bora and Rituparna Konwar alleging that PM's Office has announced the date to inaugurate Bogibeel Bridge on a day, when election to panchayats have been going on in 16 district of Assam. They alleged PM's Office of luring voters by the announcement.

The APCC members have also lodged complaint against a private television channel alleging violation of Model Code of Conduct by airing election campaign. They further alleged rigging in two polling stations in Nagaon.
