Amit Shah terms NEDA as a geo-culture alliance
The third conclave of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) was held in Guwahati on Sunday in which BJP President Amit Shah said that the NDA government at the Centre had always acknowledged the contributions of the North East.
Addressing the event, Shah said that it is a geo-culture alliance and NEDA must represent all the 217 tribes of North East.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who also attended the event said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given emphasis to the development of North East. He said that PM has termed North East as the growth engine of the country.
Chief Ministers of six North Eastern states participated in the conclave. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma expressed his belief that the NEDA would help in fulfilling the hope and aspiration of the youths of the region.
Union ministers Kiren Rijiju and Rajen Gohain were also present at the conclave.
