Alok Kumar appointed as new Chief Secretary to Assam

Senior IAS officer Alok Kumar, who was in charge as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, has been now appointed as the Chief Secretary to Assam, an official government notification informed today.

Alok Kumar takes over from Mrs. T.Y Das, who will be retiring from the post on superannuation on August 31, 2018.

The senior IAS officer boasts of a number of high-profile designations in the government for a long time now. In 2014, Kumar took over as secretary of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), country's top anti-corruption body.

Kumar is a 1984 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.
