On Saturday, a press meet has been organized by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), where the chief advisor of the organization Akhil Gogoi had explained lots of information's regarding supari syndicate which going on across the state.
Addressing to media, Gogoi told, despite he filedtwo separate cases against supari syndicate, but no one of these hasbeen registered yet. I had informed the top officials of Assam police in thisregard. With this syndicate, smuggling of illegal arms and drugs alsogoing on in full swing which was informed to DGP and CP before. But no one hastaken the matter seriously. It shows the relation between police and thesyndicate racket. The smuggled supari is not eatable as lots of chemicals alsomixed with it and should send for laboratory for test. It may cause for diseaselike cancer.
Alleging against NHPC Gogoi told NHPC and thehydroelectric power project of Bhutan may cause the destruction of lower Assam.On 2004, Modi told, he will never give permission to build big dam like NHPC inPasighat. After studying the reports of expert committee the top centralleaders assured that, Assam is not a perfect place for these kinds of big dams.
