Kamrup (M)district has recorded with 33 numbers of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) casetill date, as per the data provided by district health department.
According toan official of the health department, AES is a seasonal disease and that thehighest incidences of cases are reported in the months of June and July.
The officialfurther stated that breeding of mosquitoes takes place during these two monthswhich is very infective. He also said that the cases are more in urban areas aspeople used to store water in open vessels in which breeding of mosquitoestakes place. After July, the cases become less.
However, nodeaths have been reported so far in Assam due to AES.
