21 tons fertilizer seized in Cachar

Sonai Police, in an operation, seized 21 tons of smuggled fertilizer. Market value of the seized urea is estimated to be Rs 6 lakh.

The urea was being transported in a truck (with registration number AS 01 GC 4841) from Rangia in Assam to Mizoram.

Driver of the truck, identified as one Hanif Ali, has been apprehended by the police.

"The urea was being transported using fake challans that were issued for transporting chicken feed" police officials informed.
