19  people  rescued from Siang fury

19 people trapped in a river island in Arunachal Pradesh have been rescued by the Indian Air Force on Friday morning. The rescue operation of airlifting by IAF helicopters began at 4:30 am and was over within one hour.

The  19 trapped people were from Assam's Jonai. 9020 cumec of water was discharged into Tsangpo river by China on Thursday  that trapped at least 40 people in  a river island in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Siang river in Arunachal Pradesh turned virulent with unusually high waves. According to sources in the Central Water Commission (CWC), the water of the river has also become turbid.

T Tatak, deputy commissioner, East Siang District, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh  said, "Chinese Government relayed to Government to Arunachal Pradesh by Government of India states that due to heavy rainfall in Chinese portion the Tsangpo river is swelling with observed discharge of 9020 cumec this morning (Thursday) at 8 am at the various GD station on Tsangpo river which is reported as highest in 50 years," .

The rescued people were taken to Pasighat. The Siang administration keep an eye on the trapped people from the shore the whole night.The local MLA Tatung Jamoh  and MP Ninong Ering also joined the rescue operation.
