An 18-year-old from Assam's Jorhat who graduated high school with self-described 'average marks' went viral with a tweet schooling President Donald Trump on the difference between weather and climate.
Astha reply to President Trump on Twitter explaining the difference between weather and climate has so far garnered over 21,000 likes with more than 4800 users retweeting her.
Trump confused the weather with climate change after suggesting chilly weather headed towards the US means global warming is not real.
Trump had tweeted about record cold temperatures over Thanksgiving, adding, 'Whatever happened to Global Warming?'
To this Astha, a resident of Jorhat, fired back by saying, 'I am 54 years younger than you. I just finished high school with average marks. But even I can tell you that WEATHER IS NOT CLIMATE'
Astha was pointing out to the president that the temperature on a single day cannot be compared to global warming, which is defined by Dictionary.com as, 'an increase in the Earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect,'Mail Online reported.
Climate, itself, is defined as, 'the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of years.'
NASA has helped break the interplay between these concepts down on an even more basic level.
Several haters argued that Trump talking about weather did amount to a discussion on climate, but the temperature on a single day, even when observed over time, cannot be compared to global warming.
This is not the first time Trump has released a baffling tweet on a crucial topic like climate change. Last year he appeared to be confused over news that it could be the coldest New Year's on record, tweeting that the country could use a little bit of global warming.
