The 117th birth anniversary of Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala has been observed publicly at his birthplace Tamulbari Tea Estate in Dibrugarh. The birth anniversary has been celebrated in association with Tamulbari Tea Estate.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal participated in the programmeas the Chief Guest. The chief minister has also inaugurated a bust of RupkonwarAgarwala in front of the house located at Tamulbari Tea Estate.
Agarwala's three daughtersJayashree Chaliha, Gyanashree Pathak and Satyashree Das have also paid homageon their father's birth anniversary.
Meanwhile, in the past years, Rupkonwar's house has shattered as thereis no one to take care of. At last, Litterateur and tea farmer Devi PrasadBagoria has taken the responsibility of preserving the birth place ofRupkonwar.
Bagoria said that the tea estate will be converted into Jyoti Tirthaand on this day of his birth anniversary, CM Sonowal has unveiled the project. ThisJyoti Tirtha will preserve his creativity and his contribution towards thesociety.
