As the counting of votes concluded for three assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh, Congress have emerged victorious in all three contested seats. The Congress has done a clean sweep, also winning the Mandi Lok Sabha seat.
The sweeping victory for Congress comes just months before Himachal Pradesh goes to vote for a new government. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has taken responsibility for the humiliating loss.
Jubbal-Kothai was won by Congress' Rohit Thakur defeating BJP's Neelam Seraik. In Fatehpur, Bhawani Singh Pathiani has retained his father's seat after his death, defeating BJP's Baldev Thakur. Arki seat was won by Sanjay Awasthy of Congress defeating BJP's Rattan Singh Pal.
In the closely fought Mandi Lok Sabha seat, Pratibha Singh of Congress emerged victorious, defeating BJP's candidate Brigadier (retd) Khushal Chand Thakur, Kargil War hero.
