Air India Express, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India, informed on Wednesday that 85 passengers who were injured in the ill-fated plane crash at Kozhikode in Kerala last Friday have been discharged from hospitals after they became completely fit, a PTI report stated.
The Air India Express flight IX-1344 flying from Dubai with 190 people onboard, including a six-member crew, crashed and broke into two at the Kozhikode airport after it overshot the tabletop runway.
18 people had lost their lives in the crash that shocked the nation, and at the same time called into question the safety of the runway of the said airport.
After the frightful accident, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said on Saturday that 149 people were admitted to hospitals. He had also informed that 23 were discharged, while three were critically injured.
