Around 127 COVID-19 patients had a close shave after a fire broke out at the ICU of the hospital they were admitted in.
As reported by Hindustan Times, a short circuit in the ICU situated on the ground floor of the Sadguru Covid hospital in Jagatpur area of Cuttack caught fire, triggering a state of panic.
Luckily for the patients, they were evacuated from the ICU by the hospital staff members who were alerted by the sight of plumes coming out of the ICU.
The report quoted Chief fire officer Sukanta Sethy as saying, "Though the exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, it seems an electrical short circuit in the ICU was the trigger. Two fire tenders have brought the fire under control."
He also added that there were no casualties reported due to the accident, and that they were moved to another health facility.
