Two Bodies Found Amid Durga Puja Celebrations in Guwahati Representative Image

Amidst the joyous celebrations of Durga Puja, two lifeless bodies were discovered in separate locations in Guwahati city.

In the first instance, the lifeless body of an unidentified man was discovered in a pool of blood in city’s Hengerabari area. The deceased, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was a e-rickshaw driver by profession.

Locals suspect that the man was stabbed and murdered by unidentified miscreants for reasons currently unknown. Sources informed that he was found in a pool of blood by passersby near the LP school who immediately alerted the police.

Upon receiving information, Dispur police reached the scene and recovered the body for post mortem.

An investigation has been initiated in this regard.

Meanwhile, another dead body was recovered near the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) located at Lokhra area.

Sources said that the body was found under a transformer inside the fencing at Bathoupuri. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.

Gorchuk police have reached the scene. Further investigation is on.
