Zero: Complaint filed against SRK

Shah Rukh Khan starring Zero  has steered into rough waters. The trailer, which just hit the web on Friday (November 2) has the Sikh community up in arms as in one scene, SRK is seen wearing the Gatra Kirpan (Article of Sikh Faith).

General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Manjinder Singh Sirsa,  filed a complaint against Shahrukh  and director of the film Anand L Rai in a Delhi police station for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community. The complaint says that Shah Rukh Khan is wearing Gatra Kirpan, and that can be worn only and only by a Sikh who is fully devoted. Sirsa has complained to CBFC as well.

In his letter Sirsa wrote, "I have received a number of complaints from the Sikh Sangat for hurting the sentiments of the Sikhs by movie 'ZERO' directed by Aanand L Rai. In the film, Shah Rukh Khan has been shown wearing "Gatra Kirpan" (Article of Sikh Faith) and their movie promo has created outrage among Sikh community worldwide.

"As per the Sikh rehat Maryada only Amritdhari Sikh person can wear the Kirpan. You are requested to lodge an FIR against Aanand L Rai and actor Shah Rukh Khan and are also requested to stop the promo of the ZERO movie, showing Shah Rukh Khan wearing Gatra Kirpan."
