Shah Rukh Khan faces a threat from a local group in Bhubaneswar over a controversy which spared way back in 2001 as he gets ready to appear for the opening ceremony of the Men's Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on November 27.

A local group called Kalinga Sena has threatened that they will attack Shah Rukh with black ink if he comes for the ceremony to Bhubaneswar.

"We have all our preparation done to throw black ink on Shah Rukh Khan's face. On the entire journey from the airport to the stadium, black flags will be shown to him and my workers will be present on that entire road," Kalinga Sena's general secretary Nihar Pani said to media.

Back in 2001, when Shah Rukh's film 'Asoka' was released, he was accused of insulting the people of Odisha with his film.

Allegedly, Shah Rukh had hurt the sentiments of Odisha's people. It says that the Kalinga war has been portrayed in a wrong manner in the film Asoka because of which the culture of the state has been humiliated.

Now in 2018, Kalinga Sena's president Hemant Rath has called for an apology from Shah Rukh for hurting Odisha's people and he had even lodged a complaint with the police for the same on November 11.
