Punjabi film "Kaum De Heere", with the assassination of former prime minister Indira Gandhi as its plot, is all set to be released after Delhi High Court's approval today.

It may be noted that the film was slated to be released in August 2014 however, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) withdrew its certification for public screening.

In the context of law and order situation due to the release of the film, Justice Vibhu Bakhru, referring to a Supreme Court verdict stated that once an expert body considering the impact of a film on the public has cleared it, there can be no such excuses.

Challenging CBFC and Film Certification Appellate Tribunal's orders, the producers of the film had claimed that the censor board "had no factual or legal basis for withdrawal of certificate" after granting it.

In reply, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and CBFC said that the withdrawal of certification was done as per provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 and on the orders of the central government.
