The Kamakhya Vidyalaya High School in Guwahati has been declared as a micro-containment zone by Kamrup (M) administration for the next 7 days.
According to reports, the principal of the school had tested positive for COVID-19, which led to isolation of the school campus as a micro-containment zone.
The principal is currently admitted at a private hospital in Guwahati.
According to the order dated October 28, under the "Assam Covid -19 Regulations 2020", the containment zone is effective from October 28 till November 4.
The school will remain closed for the next seven days for maintenance of public hygiene and prevent further spread of the virus amongst the teaching staff and students.
Moreover, following the instructions of the Kamrup (Metro) district administration, the most of the teachers of the school had undergone mandatory Covid –19 test on Thursday.
The students along with remaining teachers will be tested on Friday, informed a senior teacher of the school.
