Congress leader Gautam Roy to join BJP today

In a recent turn of events, veteran Congress leader Gautam Roy is set to join BJP today.

As per sources, Roy is likely to contest for the Silchar seat from the saffron party against Sushmita Dev, one of the candidates with a strong hold over the seat.

It may be noted that BJP had played a smart move here by putting forth Roy in the Silchar seat as Congress' Sushmita Dev is contesting for the same and BJP had no strong candidate to take on Dev.

Last night, BJP had declared that AGP and BJP will contest elections together in order to take on Congress.
