Congress Attacks PM Modi Over Celebration of 100 Cr Vaccine Doses
Updated on:

Soon after Prime Minister addressed the nation as a mark of celebration of crossing 100 crore vaccination, the Congress started taking jibes at the Centre over the fanfare around the milestone.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has tweeted with a cartoon on the 1 billion vaccine doses achievement. He wrote in his tweet, "The day after 1 billion….A reminder!"

The cartoon in the tweet shows a common man buckling under the pressure of the pandemic, fuel price rise, inflation with PM Modi lying on top of the pile.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Congress leader Siddaramaiah put out a series of tweets saying, "1 billion doses' sounds fancy number but the devil is in the details. Only 29 crore people out of 139 crore are fully vaccinated, which means only about 21% are fully vaccinated. What are BJP leaders celebrating for?"

"For vaccinating just 21% of the population? Only 29 crore people have got two-doses and 42 crore have got one dose, leaving 62 crore without any single dose of vaccine," said Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah further added, "India still needs about 106 crore doses to fully vaccinate the target by 31st Dec. This means 1.51 doses have to be administered every day."

Congress leader Manish Tewari also took to Twitter to attack PM Modi. He said, "PM has an interesting modus operandi. When responsibility has to be taken for failure for example criminal negligence during second wave of COVID -19 he goes MIA (MISSING IN ACTION). However when Credit has to be taken he is first up on the stand".
