Heat wave has claimed 43 lives within 24 hours in Bihar. The number of deaths have been reported from Aurangabad, Gaya and Nawada, said official sources.
According to reports, over 70 people are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in these aforementioned districts of the state.
The intense heat waves leading to sweltering heat has disrupted normal life, more specifically for the past three days.
The Met Department in Patna has informed that there will be no relief for the next two days from such heat wave conditions.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar has directed officials to provide all possible medical facilities to affected people and has also ordered an ex- gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to families of victims.
Government and private schools in Patna and Bhagalpur have been ordered shut till 19th of this month due to the scorching heat.
