GoI determined to privatize Air India

Government of India has made up its mind to privatize Air India, said Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri while addressing the press today who also added that there are also interested buyers for it.

According to news agency PTI report, Puri said that the government is determined to privatize Air India. It has to get the best possible deal and also get it in the shortest time available. People are very much interested in acquiring Air India.

"Procedure involved in the formation of an alternate mechanism, a Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been formed. A meeting at Cabinet Secretariat level has also taken place," he added.

Elaborating on eager buyers, the minister said that whoever acquires Air India will be very fortunate.

Simultaneously, the Civil Aviation Minister also launched a web-based Aviation Jobs Portal, which is expected to provide growth potential for the aviation sector to contribute to employment and re-employment in skilled aviation jobs in India.
