Apple will start to manufacture and assemble the latest 2020 version of the iPhone SE in India, a report claimed.
The Silicon Valley giant took this decision to avoid a 20 percent tax imposed for importing the latest iPhone model to India. Previously, Apple has produced a few older models domestically; however, this will be one of its kinds.
Apple's Taiwanese contract manufacturer Wistron based also in India has started receiving the components for the new model from one of its suppliers in China.
Applelaunched the iPhone SE (2020) in India in April — alongside its debut in globalmarkets. The iPhone SE (2020) units that are currently available in India aremanufactured in China. The government recently launched its production-linkedincentive scheme to start pleasing domestic assembling and manufacturing ofmobile phones in the country. The iPhone SE (2020), carries a starting price ofRs. 42,500.
