Assam Rifles Seizes 1.4 Cr Worth Opium

The Ghaspani Battalion of the Assam Rifles intercepted two trucks and recovered 120 bags of Vietnamese Poppy/Opium Seeds worth approximately ₹1.4 Cr at the National Highway 29 near Piphema in Nagaland on Sunday.

The carriers and seized contrabands have been handed over to the Customs Department, an official release stated.

In this connection, four have been apprehended by the security forces.
