Assam: Former Minister Dr. Nazrul Islam Tests COVID-19 +

Former Health Minister of Assam Dr. Nazrul Islam has tested positive for COVID-19. The minister informed through his Facebook account. He has been asked to be in-home quarantine for 14 days.

Dr. Islam in his Facebook post said, "Today I have done the test of Karuna (Covid 19) with my own will and my results are positive. So the administration has ordered me to stay in home quarantine for 14 days. So, I request everyone who has been connected to me in the past few days to test their own self and make themselves home quarantine and be safe. "

Earlier several top politicians of the state including former Silchar MP Sushmita Dev, Assam Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Aminul Haque, MLAs Krishnendu Paul, Bolin Chetia, Narayan Deka, Nabanita Handique and Atul Bora (Senior) were also infected with COVID-19.
