US has the cleanest climates: Donald Trump

The United States President Donald Trump onWednesday replayed the theme of blaming India, China and Russia pushed byPrince Charles on the issue of climate change for allegedly not doing enoughand insisted the US has one of the cleanest climates.

Donald Trump has made the remarks on the last day of his three-day state visit. Trump on his visit joined Queen Elizabeth, France President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and others in Portsmouth to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings before leaving for Ireland.

Trump blamed India and other countries whilewithdrawing from the Paris climate accord in 2017 and reiterated the contentionsince and also had an extended discussion on Tuesday with Prince Charles onclimate change, an issue on which the President is known to have seriousreservations.

Trump further stated that Charles did most of thetalking and he totally listened and lauded the prince's passion for the subjectand said that he countered the suggestion that the US should do more to combatclimate change.

Trump admitted that he did said that the US rightnow has among the cleanest climates based on all statistics and that it's evengetting better because he agreed with that he wants the nest water, thecleanest water.

Climate change was one of the issues in talksbetween Trump and Prime Minister Theresa May reflecting demands before thestate visit that he be confronted over his approach to it. A letter signed by250 academics said that his refusal to tackle global warming is increasingrisks for lives and livelihoods.
