Mahi bhai said “Bowl a Yorker”: Shami on hat-trick

Indianseamer Mohammed Shami, who took a hat-trick in the last match againstAfghanistan on Saturday, has revealed that it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni whoadvised him to bowl a Yorker for the hat-trick delivery.

"Theplan was simple. To bowl a Yorker and even Mahi bhai suggested that," saidShami while interacting with media. "Mahi bhai said don't change anything nowas you have a great chance of getting a hat-trick. It's a rare opportunity andyou need to do the same thing," Shami told media, adding, "So I did whatexactly I was told."

Shami became the second Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in World Cup after Chetan Sharma, who achieved the feat against New Zealand in the 1987. Also it was 10th hat-trick in history of 50-over World Cup and was the first in this season of the tournament.

Shami took 4 wickets for 40 runs in 9.5 overs against Afghanistan at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
