Jamshedpur FC hold NorthEast United in a scoreless battle

Pratidin Bureau

It was an entertaining 0-0 stalemate as Jamshedpur FC held NorthEast United in their home on Saturday evening. Both sides looked pretty engaging in their own terms as the defenses were absolutely airtight on either ends. Clear cut chances were hard to come by as the midfielders gave their all in a tough night's shift. The match was expected to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller in Jamshedpur's fortress known as 'The Furnace', however there weren't much fireworks to light up and soar the mercury levels on a wintry December night.

Jamshedpur's skipper and defender Tiri was right upto his responsibilities and never had a rusty moment on the pitch. He was constantly hovering in and around NEUFC targetman Bart Ogbeche given the threat he possesses. The match was a real test of midfields and both the sides looked on par with each other. For NorthEast United, Rowllin Borges and Jose Leudo put in their best and fired up the engines for a more pressing game.

Federico Gallego's second half shot on target was comfortably dealt with by Subrata Pal, which interestingly was the only shot on target in the whole match. With one point each, NorthEast United and Jamshedpur FC find themselves in the second and third positions respectively. NorthEast United take on leaders Bengaluru FC at home on Wednesday.
