#IPL2020: Governing body meet on August 2

The Indian Premier League's Governing Council is scheduled to meet on August 2 to fix the league's timeline and other arrangements which will be held in the UAE this year.

The much eagerly-awaited tournament had to be moved out of India due to the escalating figures of COVID-19 pandemic, which will be now held from September 19 to November 8 in the UAE. "The IPL governing council will meet on August 2," IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel told PTI.

 "It is expected that eight franchises will be handed the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) after the meeting," a BCCI official said.

The meeting, expected to be attended by top BCCI officials, including President Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah, would address concerns of various stakeholders.
