India 2nd in medals tally in Asian Youth Athletics Championships

India secures the position in the overall medals tally in the Asian Youth Athletics Championships held in Hong Kong.

India has bagged a total of 26 medals including eight gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals.

With 31 medals including 12 gold, 11 silver and eight bronze medals, China topped the medals tally and Japan with 20 medals including 6 Gold, 8 Silver and 6 bronze secured the third spot.

With 2019 being the third edition of the biennial, Asian Youth Athletics Championships is a continental athletics competition for Asian athletes within the age group of 15 to 17 years. Organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, the event had been held at the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground in Hong Kong from 15 to 17 March.
