Asian Games Update – Shooter Deepaak Kumar bags Silver in 10m Air Rifle event

Shooter Deepak Kumar today bagged a Silver medal in the 18th Asian Games being held in Indonesia. Deepak Kumar claimed the Silver in the Men's 10-metre Air Rifle event with a score of 247.7 points

This was India's second medal in Shooting and has taken the tally of medals in shooting to 3. The Indian shooting contingent has 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze in its kitty. China took home the Gold, while Chinese Taipei won the Bronze. The other Indian in the event, Ravi Kumar ended at the fourth spot.

In women's 10-metre Air Rifle event, Apurvi Chandela has been eliminated in the final round after a shot of 9.8 as she finishes fifth.

Earlier, Elavenil Valarivan was eliminated. China won the gold, Korea settled for silver while Mongolia won Bronze in the event.  Ravi and Apurvi had clinched a Bronze medal in the Mixed Team category yesterday.

In Women's Trap, Seema Tomar finished in the sixth position in the Qualifications thus ending a medal hope in the finals for her. Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Lakshay are set to figure in Men's Trap event.
