No Nagalim without parts of Northeast inhabited by Nagas: NSCN (IM)

Pratidin Bureau

Naga insurgent group NSCN (IM) on Sunday said that the integration of all Naga inhabited areas of the northeast is a significant part of the ongoing peace talks with the centre. "Nagalim shall not be formed excluding any part of Northeast India that is inhabited by Nagas" the group added.

NSCN (IM) has also warned of retaliation against any power that goes against the formation of Nagalim.

It may be mentioned here that the group has been fighting for the cause of Nagalim since the last 21 years. Subsequently, the "framework agreement" was signed between the centre and the NSCN-IM on August 03, 2015.

NSCN (IM) has been demanding the integration of Naga inhabited areas of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur as well as Myanmar into Nagalim. However, numerous organisations as well as the state governments and centre has been opposing the same. Minister of State for Home recently announced that the Naga Accord shall not affect the neighbouring states in any way. Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio has also earlier asserted the same.

Rio's statement that integration of the Naga inhabited areas was not possible, however, was slammed by NSCN (IM).
